Telangana Employees’ JAC Calls Off Proposed Agitation After Deputy CM Assures Pending DA Payments.

The Telangana Government Employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC / TGEJAC) on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, called off its proposed agitation following assurances from Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka regarding pending Dearness Allowance (DA) payments and other key demands.

JAC Secretary General Eluri Sreenivasa Rao stated that the Deputy CM assured the release of two pending DA instalments by Dasara (next month) and a third instalment between Sankranti and Ugadi next year. The talks, held late on Wednesday, also covered the long-pending Pay Revision Commission (PRC), clearance of pending bills, and the demand to revert to the Old Pension Scheme (OPS).

Dearness Allowance: Two DAs to be released by Dasara 2026; one more later (by March 2027 according to some reports).

Pay Revision Commission (PRC): The government expects to receive the PRC report within 15 days (or around two weeks) and will then take a decision.

Pending Bills: Maximum clearance of employees’ pending bills by March next year, with the government open to enhancing the monthly release (currently around ₹1,000 crore).

Old Pension Scheme / CPS: An official-cum-JAC members joint committee will be constituted soon to examine the issue of restoring the Old Pension Scheme and reviewing the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).

The JAC leaders had been invited for talks with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the CM’s camp office. Due to a delayed energy sector review, the Chief Minister could not meet them. Instead, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, held discussions with the employee representatives.

Earlier in the day, initial talks with the Chief Secretary had left some sections of the JAC dissatisfied, prompting an emergency meeting. The subsequent round with the Deputy CM proved more productive, leading the JAC to withdraw its agitation plans for now. The committee indicated it would take a final call on its future course of action at its next meeting.
