Allu Arjun’s much-awaited film ‘Raaka’ has created a global milestone even before its theatrical release. Directed by Atlee, the upcoming film has officially entered the Guinness World Records for the “Most People Motion-Captured in Real-Time.”
The record was achieved after 37 performers were captured simultaneously in real time during a motion-capture session for the film. Guinness World Records officially lists the achievement as being accomplished by Sun TV Network Limited and director V. Arunkumar, popularly known as Atlee, for Raaka.
The motion-capture session involved 37 performers, with the participants ranging from a four-year-old child to a 70-year-old. Capturing the movements of so many performers simultaneously required advanced technology and a specially developed production workflow.
The film’s technical team used 92 optical motion-capture cameras, along with real-time visualisation, synchronisation systems and facial-capture technology to handle the large-scale shoot.
The official Guinness recognition has added another major highlight to Raaka ahead of its release. Allu Arjun and Atlee received the Guinness World Records certificate, celebrating the achievement with the film’s team.
The achievement was originally created during production in February 2026, while Guinness World Records officially certified the record on September 15, 2026.
Motion capture is a filmmaking technique in which performers’ physical movements are recorded and converted into digital data for use in CGI and visual effects. The scale of Raaka’s record highlights the film’s extensive use of advanced visual-effects technology.
Produced by Sun Pictures, Raaka marks the first collaboration between Allu Arjun and Atlee. The film also features Deepika Padukone in a key role and is expected to arrive in theatres in 2027.
With its Guinness World Record now officially recognised, Raaka has generated fresh attention around its ambitious production scale and technology-driven filmmaking.
