Karthik Subbaraj’s upcoming Tamil film Dorothy has received an encouraging response on the international stage after earning a standing ovation at its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2026.
Starring Keerthy Suresh, Sananth and Rishikanth, the film was screened in TIFF’s Centrepiece section at Toronto’s Scotiabank Theatre. The response marks an important moment for Tamil cinema, with Dorothy becoming the first Tamil feature to premiere at TIFF in a decade.
