Hyderabad has once again proved why it is India’s tech innovation hub. VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology (VNR VJIET), one of the city’s top engineering colleges, successfully hosted its flagship national-level hackathon *Convergence 2K26*, attracting more than 2,500 students from across the country.
The 24 to 36-hour hackathon brought together young coders, designers, and innovators to work on real-world challenges. Participants formed teams to build prototypes and solutions in domains like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, IoT, HealthTech, FinTech, and Sustainable Development.
This year’s theme focused on “Technology for Social Good” encouraging students to create solutions that are not only technically advanced but also socially impactful.
Massive Participation: Over 2,500+ registrations from engineering colleges across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and other states.- Mentorship: Industry experts from top MNCs and startups in Hyderabad mentored the students.- Prizes and Incubation: Winning teams received cash prizes, internship opportunities, and incubation support from VNR VJIET’s entrepreneurship cell to turn their ideas into startups.- Real-World Focus: Projects included AI-based traffic management for Hyderabad, low-cost healthcare monitoring systems, and smart agriculture solutions for farmers.
