The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has invited applications for its Internship Programme for the term running from October 2026 to March 2027. Eligible final-year students and recent graduates can apply online until September 27, 2026.
The programme offers young Indians an opportunity to gain exposure to the working of the Ministry and India’s foreign policy framework.

Eligibility Criteria
Must be an Indian citizen.
Should have completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university at the time of applying, or
Be in the final year of an undergraduate programme where an internship is a mandatory part of the curriculum.
Age should not exceed 25 years as on December 31, 2026.
The October–March term is open to applicants from specific states and Union Territories, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, and the UTs of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry.
Stipend and Benefits
Selected interns will receive:
A monthly honorarium of ₹10,000 to cover basic expenses.
Cost of one round-trip air journey (economy class, subject to the applicable ceiling) between Delhi and the state capital of the candidate’s domicile or the location of their college/university.
Interns are responsible for their own board and lodging in Delhi during the internship period.
