BRS Files Police Complaint Over Allegedly AI-Morphed Video Targeting Senior Leaders

Bharat Rashtra Samithi leaders K. Chandrasekhar Rao and K.T. Rama Rao; the party has filed a police complaint over an allegedly AI-morphed video targeting them.

Hyderabad, October 6, 2026 – The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) legal cell has filed a complaint with the Banjara Hills police station over an allegedly AI-morphed and defamatory video circulating on social media that targets senior party leaders, including former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), and former MP J. Santosh Rao.

The complaint was submitted by BRS state legal cell member Gautam Prasad Nimburi (also referred to as Gauthamprasad Nimburi) and others. It alleges that the video, posted on October 1 by the X (formerly Twitter) account @raretelangana (or similar handle named TELANGANA / @RARE TELANGANA), used genuine scenes from the Telugu film Dubai Seenu and superimposed AI-generated or digitally altered voices and fabricated dialogues.

According to the complaint, the manipulated audio creates the false impression that the film actors are endorsing allegations of corruption, fraud and personal enrichment against KCR and his family. The party contends that using familiar film footage and recognisable actors makes the fabricated content appear more authentic to viewers and is intended to damage the reputation of the leaders and the party.

The BRS has sought a comprehensive cyber-forensic investigation to identify the creators of the video, those who generated or manipulated the synthetic voices, the editors who synchronised the audio with the film footage, and the persons operating the social media account. The party has also demanded the immediate removal of the video and criminal action against those responsible.

Banjara Hills police have confirmed receipt of the complaint but stated that a formal case has not yet been registered.

This complaint comes amid growing concerns over the misuse of artificial intelligence tools to create deepfake or morphed content targeting political figures in Telangana. The BRS has previously raised similar issues with higher authorities regarding AI-generated images and videos allegedly used to tarnish its leaders.
